All Sorts of Weird Stuff offers news and information about George R.R. Martin, in particular about his A Song of Ice and Fire series.
"When I was young, I read all sorts of stuff. One week it would be Lovecraft, the next Vance. It was all imaginative literature, or as my dad called it 'Weird Stuff.' It was all 'Weird Stuff.'"

Dave McCaman of the Brotherhood Without Banners Fan Club called for donations towards a gift for GRRM and Parris to mark the successful completion of A Feast for Crows. Hundreds of dollars had been raised, when tragedy struck New Orleans. George happens to go to Mardi Gras every year, participating with the Endymion Krewe (whose medallions have served as the sigil of office of Lords of the Brotherhood), and so we all know that he must be feeling this particularly deeply.
In token of this, it’s been decided to turn the gift fund into a donation to the American Red Cross to support their continuing efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people of New Orleans. The goal is now to hit at least $1,000, and we’re only $50 from that mark. If you have donated yet, please consider donating to the Gift of Crows fund. More information, and instructions, can be found in the first post in this thread on the A Song of Ice and Fire message board.
On a separate, but related note, GRRM’s birthday—September 20th—is fast approaching, and tireless Dave is now organizing a special birthday greeting card to be accompanied with the names and personal felicitations of those who contact him to take part. Deadline for submissions is the 13th. More information can be found here.
