"When I was young, I read all sorts of stuff. One week it would be Lovecraft, the next Vance. It was all imaginative literature, or as my dad called it 'Weird Stuff.' It was all 'Weird Stuff.'"

As the first ever recipients of the Brotherhood without Banner’s Raven Award, we thought we’d post a reminder that the 2006 Worldcon in L.A. is fast approaching, and that two new recipients have been selected for their tireless efforts on behalf of the fan community.
Mormont and Skylark have made great efforts to make the community what it is, and both helped to make the Glasgow Worldcon the success that it was. Mormont, in particular, is also one of the mainstays of the A Song of Ice and Fire forum and serves very ably indeed as a moderator; what I’d do without him, I couldn’t even begin to imagine. Linda and I fully support doing everything that can be done to make sure these two get to the Worldcon in Los Angeles, and one way of doing this is by contributing to the Raven Award fund which will cover expenses for them as well as for the BwB’s efforts to put on some memorable parties for all and sundry.
Instructions for contributing can be found here. This is a terrific opportunity to come together as fans and support the community, making sure that it’ll be around for a long, long time to come. We’re nearly a third of the way to our goal, and with your support we’re sure to exceed it by the time of the convention!
The Westeros network consists of several different sites, including a forum and a wiki, for all your A Song of Ice and Fire needs.
