Greeters are players with a certain amount of experience who wish to help with the task of getting newer players settled into the game. To help in this task, they are given access to the Newbie and Guest channels. These channels should only be used for helping newbies and guests, and players who spam these channels with irrelevant comments may lose their access to them.
Greeters should make themselves available on these channels from time to time, and should indicate their availability to newly connected players. They should not, however, go overboard with enthusiasm when greeting new players or guests. They should also refrain from trying to recruit players for specific roles unless the player first expresses a wish to receive suggestions for which character to play.
