The Hand, Prince Viserys, presides over the first council session held since the return of part of Daeron's forces from Dorne. On the agenda are such matters as the conflict between Ser Doran and Ser Sarmion.
The Hand meets with the other party in the quarrel that erupted a few days ago, a certain Ser Sarmion, and has some requests to make of the knight. And once Ser Sarmion leaves, Ser Almer Connington takes his place, bringing with him some requests for the Hand.
Lady Elanna Penrose and Tancred Baratheon meets in the early afternoon at the Baratheon Manse to speak of such important issues as politic, honor, marriage and fond memories.
Lady Elanna Penrose, having returned from a night out into the city, comes across a contemplative Jyana Arryn, who puzzles over a certain complication.
Almer Connington and Jonn Lannister discuss a nasty rumor about a fallen comrade, as Elanna Penrose looks on.
Doran Dondarrion meets with the Hand to speak about the matter of his ... disagreement with Sarmion Baratheon
Almer Connington, exhausted from a meeting with the Hand of the King, comes across Jyana Arryn and her efforts to recreate the Charge of the Two Kings during the Wars of Conquest.
After her visit to Carmella Dondarrion's apartments, Jyana Arryn runs into her good cousin, Jonn Lannister. Reminded of his promise to tell her a story from the night of the homecoming feast, Jonn tells her of how he was knighted...and where his hatred of his brother, Jaesin, truly comes from.
The day following Ser Doran and Ser Sarmion's confrontation in the yard, Carmella is paid a visit by a couple of ladies, including Lady Jyana who had stayed with her through the night.
Three of the hostages discuss their situation, and the conversation seems to suggest that it might be wise for their keepers to worry the most about their female guests.
Lady Aurana Buckler, on her way to the Sept, decides to pay a visit on Lady Elanna Baratheon. She encounters the young Baratheon heir outside his familys Manse and end up having a rather interesting conversation with him as they stroll through the gate together.
Comedy arises when young Jyana Arryn is besieged by a group of very young gossips, culminating in an impromptu chase through the surrounding trees. A squire and a knight come to her rescue, and when the squire takes his leave, the curious knight makes his inquiries as to what has just happened....only to find out in the end he is the cause of it all, with neither of them knowing!
Two ladies watch the Dondarrion knight tilt at the quintain, but a polite offer to the Dornish knight to have a pass does end in an insult by the Blackbolt to the Baratheon men and accusations of the Stormbreaker butchering innocents.
Ser Bryce is in a dark mood, and ends up explaining the Lady Lanei why he isn't happy dwelling in King's Landing.
Ser Doran visits the Fowler Apartments seeking Lady Lanei to return to her a ring the dornish lady lost a few days back.
