The King Arrives
IC Date: Day 14 of Month 3, 159 AC.
RL Date: December 08, 2007.

The Young Dragon entered in triumph into King’s Landing, greeted by his adoring subjects despite the steady drizzle of rain. A huge fleet of ferries and rafts and boats carried him, the Hand, the Kingsguard, and hundreds upon hundreds of knights who had fought through the whole of the campaign with his grace. Before the River Gate, the king was greeted by the High Septon, the, royal councillors and the rest of the court, as well as by his loving siblings. All the great knights and lords and ladies at court were present, save for the ailing Princess Naerys who stayed indoors, and her husband Prince Aegon.

King Daeron presided over the feast that followed, greeting many of the courtiers and sending out the choicest morsels to his loyal subjects. When it came time for the dancing, he spent a good deal of time reacquainting himself with the knights who had left Dorne after the Submission of Sunspear, before being drawn into the dances by Princess Daena. All in all, it was a successful return, and some would say no king has ever been so heartily greeted. If there is any dark spot, it might be the fact that the greeting between Daeron and his cousin, Aegon, was notably brief and strained. Lady Cassella Vaith, Aegon’s declared mistress, was not present with the Dornish hostages who were present at the king’s arrival, nor did she make an appearance at the feast. Few were surprised by this fact, however.
