House Osgrey of Standfast

A lion, checkered green and gold, on white

General Information

Standfast is a small castle, and is in fact more of a glorified towerhouse than anything. The Osgreys once had a glorious history as bannermen under House Gardener, and were named Marshals of the Northmarch for a thousand years. The only member of the house to appear was Ser Eustace Osgrey, who lived around 211.

Spoilers

Ser Eustace had lost all his family due to the Blackfyre Rebellion. He rose for Daemon Blackfyre, but his sons dies in the fighting, his daughter was taken hostage and eventually died of illness, and his wife died of grief. Eventually he hired Ser Duncan the Tall as a sworn sword, ultimately involving him in a long-standing feud with the Red Widow of House Webber, who had once loved his youngest son. In the end, Ser Duncan won a trial by combat on Ser Eustace’s behalf, and this led to a reconciliation between Ser Eustace and the young Lady Rohanne, which was followed shortly thereafter by their wedding.
