House Rosby of Rosby

Three red chevronels on ermine

General Information

Northeast of King’s Landing, Rosby is one of the nearest of the bannerhouses sworn directly to King’s Landing. Its current lord is Gyles Rosby, an old and sickly man. Lord Walder Frey’s sixth wife was Lady Bethany Rosby. The family is not known for its robustness.

Spoilers

Lord Gyles attempted to sneak Prince Tommen away to Rosby, at Queen Cersei’s command. He was intercepted by Ser Jacelyn Bywater, commander of the City Watch, who had been ordered by Tyrion Lannister, the Hand, to see to Prince Tommen’s safety and promised Rosby as his own lordship. The lordship was never transferred, however, and Gyles Rosby remains Lord of Rosby.

Lady Bethany of House Rosby’s daughter by Lord Walder Frey, Roslin, was wedded and bedded by Lord Edmure Tully on the night of the Red Wedding.
