Spoilers

e was captured at the Whispering Wood and acted as courier for the surrender demands of King Robb to King Joffrey and from Joffrey’s Hand, Tyrion Lannister, back again. He was released with Ser Jaime Lannister by Lady Catelyn Stark, in the company of Brienne of Tarth. However, he died along the way when the company was ambushed by broken men, during which he was wounded by arrows and fell from his horse with a foot stuck in the stirrup, leading to his being dragged on the ground by the horse until he died. He was left unburied, although Jaime Lannister later lied to his parents, claiming he had done so.
