House Varner
General Information
The house is considered one of the great houses of the Reach. The current head of the house is Lord Steffon Varner.
Spoilers
Lord Steffon followed King Renly until his death and then bent the knee to King Stannis, sitting high in his councils until the disasterous defeat at the Blackwater. Lord Varner recieved wounds in the battle, his knee shattered, and was made to walk into the throne room of the Red Keep and swear allegiance to King Joffrey. It is unclear whether he was among those who changed sides in the course of the battle or remained true to King Stannis until the end.
