Here we have a look at the winch cage at Castle Black. This is actually a functioning quarry elevator, which climbs part way up the face of Magheramorne quarry, but it has been dressed to look like a wood-and-steel cage. I’ve heard that some of the actors that have gone up it have noted that that steel grate on the floor can lead to a bit of vertigo as you watch the ground recede.
