And here is Ser Waymar’s sword, fully-realized. Compare to the design sketch, and you’ll see it pretty much came out exactly as the artist envisioned. It would certainly fit into The Lord of the Rings as envisioned by Peter Jackson, but it is strikingly ornate compared to the weapons designed later on for the series. Amber figures heavily in the the ornamentation. The hilt of the sword certainly seems like it’s cast out of resin of some sort, and then painted to have the desired appearance.

We would have loved to see the famous Royce runes incorporated into this design, as well as more use of bronze.
