Extras from Castle Black. One of the interesting details is the fact that it seems both of the extras here are holding spears or staves. In the novels, it’s noted that the Watch pays a great deal attention to training recruits with the sword, and that other weapons—bows, spears—are somewhat more neglected than they should be. This is probably a result of the fact that the training of recruits seems to often be given to knights such as Ser Alliser Thorne.
