More of Dubrovnik’s walls, towers, and the medieval city beyond. Amazing. This is certainly closer to how readers might imagine King’s Landing and the Red Keep… but D.B. Weiss’s “uncanny” is a bit much. There’s some surprising similarities, but there’s a lot of differences. That said, compared to Malta, Dubrovnik’s medieval city is certainly much closer to what Martin imagined. Malta had a particularly Mediterranean look that’s quite distinct from what’s seen in mainland western Europe.
