Longclaw
The sword of the Mormonts, Longclaw is described as a hand-and-a-half—or bastard—sword of Valyrian steel. For the show, the Valyrian steel look has been done with pattern-welding, using a medieval Anglo-Saxon pattern. The pommel is hand-carved. Unlike in the books, the sword does not have the triple fullers that are described, and of course Valyrian steel is said to be very dark, almost black, which is something that just wouldn’t work very well with pattern-welded steel.
