A closer look at the Hound and his helmet… and a good look at the scarring makeup. They settled on it being upon the right side of his face, and it’s actually rather less horrific than the burn scars described in the novels. He still has his ear, though quite scarred, and it seems like some hair still grows on that side as well. But then, thoe novel description is almost over-the-top, with a piece of Sandor’s jaw bone permanently exposed to the air and the like. It seems an acceptable interpretation, even if one can’t help but suppose the show’s version is not quite ruined enough.
