Holiday Gift Guide

With the holidays fast approaching, we thought that there might be some who are scrambling for last-minute gift suggestions. And what better way to give some suggestions, than to share what we’d give to various characters from A Song of Ice and Fire?

Arya

Far away from home, Arya could use something to help her find her way back to Westerosâ`¦ so how about The Lands of Ice and Fire map collection?

Bran

It’s dark beneath the weirwood, and his visions of the past could lead Bran to lose track of time, so we’d give him the 2016 A Song of Ice and Fire Calendar) with lovely art by Magali Villeneuve.

Brienne

To remind her that true knights really do exist, Brienne of Tarth could enjoy A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, with the added romantic, lovely illustrations from the great Gary Gianni.

Cersei

To pass the time while awaiting her trial at the hands of the High Septon, Cersei might enjoy the Official A Game of Thrones Coloring Book), with art by Levi Pinfold, John Howe, Yvonne Gilbert, and more.

Daenerys

To help her keep her eye on the prize, the Iron Throne Construction Set from McFarlane Toys (which we’ve recently reviewed) should be helpful to Daenerys Stormborn.

Davos

Stannis Baratheon may have been given an ignoble death on Game of Thrones, but in A Song of Ice and Fire he is alive and well according to GRRMâ`¦ and that means his Hand, Davos Seaworth, is still in office. There’s no better way to make it official than to make use of the Hand of the King’s Wax Seal on correspondence.

Jon

Are your swords sharp, Jon Snow? Because two swords are doubtless better than one. Even if one was a Longclaw Letter Opener... or, for those with the gold dragons to spend, the “Damascus” steel replica.

Margaery

Highgarden is famed for its roses, and Queen Margaery is an ornament in any court. A bauble like this Tyrell rose necklace from Pyrrha may just be the thing.

Samwell

For Sam, who’s forced by circumstances to pursue a maester’s learning, our own The World of Ice and Fire is an excellent primer to the history of Westeros, Essos, and the Summer Isles.

Sansa

For Sansa, who lost her wolf, a few direwolf plush toys might provide comfort in her loneliness. And she can increase the pack if she feels like she needs some packmates for her direwolves.

Stannis

For one of the best generals in the Seven Kingdoms, Game of Thrones Risk may help him sharpen his strategiesâ`¦ or for something more advanced, the A Game of Thrones Board Game  may suit, or the much more tactical Battles of Westeros.

Tyrion

Last on our list, but not at least, we dithered on a gift for Tyrion. Would it be the new, handsome, A Song of Ice and Fire box set, so he could get a better understanding of what had led him to where he was? Or perhaps a plush dragon, to make his boyhood dreams come true?
