Valyrian Steel Updates (and Dragonglass)

Valyrian Steel, official producers of replica weapons inspired by George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, have had a few updates of late that are worth noting.

First, for those looking to order a weapon from them, they provide a guide for the latest an order can get in before it’ll be too late to arrive for Christmas. Most international orders should work out by the 9th, while domestic orders might okay as late as the 17th or 18th. At a guess, this is probably a good rule of thumb for those ordering Longclaw, Needle, or the brand new Ice.

On top of that, their replica of the Stark ancestral sword has just cleared customs, and they’ve indicated that Ice should start shipping out to customers this coming Wednesday.

And finally, last but certainly not least, Valyrian Steel has unveiled a new replica: a dragonglass (aka obsidian) dagger, made of real obsidian, part of a “North of the Wall Survival Kit” that will include several arrowheads, documents, a sheath, a pouch, and perhaps some other things. They’re estimating it will be available in January, and pricing will probably be between $200-$250.
