II: 325 - The Supper

She paid that no heed. "You were sitting at supper, but instead of the servant Maester Luwin brought you your food. He served you the king's cut off the roast, the meat rare and bloody, but with a savory smell that made everyone's mouth water. The meat he served the Freys was old and grey and dead. Yet they liked their supper better than you liked yours."

Meera describes Jojen's greendream to Bran. This dream foretells the message coming from the south telling of Robb's victories, "the king's cut", but also telling the Freys of the loss of Ser Stevron Frey, the meat that was "old and grey and dead". Bran is not as pleased with the news as he might be, both because he thinks Tywin Lannister is the one who must be defeated and because he recalls Osha saying that Robb was marching the wrong way in any case, but the Frey boys don't seem troubled at all about Ser Stafford's death.
