The Tully family has so far been lightly represented on the show, but this week several new members are introduced, although for one of them that introduction comes a bit late. Another one of them is something of a fan favourite character and someone Catelyn is very glad to meet again.

In King’s Landing, Tywin is unhappy with the lack of news about Jaime’s whereabouts and he seems intent on making Tyrion unahppy as well by bestowing an unwanted honour on him. As a result, Tyrion finds himself teaching Bronn a thing or two about loans while Podrick gets a very, very different lesson…

Jaime, as it happens, is in a bit of a tight spot together with Brienne, and things really take a turn for worse for the unlikely couple. Keep a close eye on Gwendoline Christies performance in this episode, its quite brilliant.

Beyond the Wall, the remains of Lord Mormont’s party might think they have escaped the worst, but as they reach Craster’s Keep they find anything but a warm welcome. Samwell does gets to meet someone he has missed, but the circumstances could be happier.

Finally, across the Narrow Sea Daenerys’s advisors do not see eye to eye on the best course of action, until she does something that has them both agreeing it was the wrong thing to do.
