This is a walkway at the Castle Black set. To the right you can just glimpse the courtyard, which is surrounded by several other structures. This walkway passes over a gate, which we suspect is there more to selectively block off the area to the left from certain camera angles for cost reasons rather than to suggest that Castle Black is surrounded by walls. Per the books, none of the Night’s Watch castles have defensive walls.
