Here we have an early design sketch of Ned Stark’s clothing. Readng the text and looking at it, it seems much of the design was retained—Ned does indeed have a leather doublet over a grey robe or surcoat, as well as a furred cloak. The main detail that’s lost is that the “embossed or embroidered” direwolves was not carried through to the final design.
