A close-up of Lord Eddard, with the somewhat tarnish pommel of Ice in his hand suggesting a certain age to the weapon. In the novels, Ice was acquired by the Starks five centuries earlier. Its name descends from a name commonly given to the sword of the ruling Stark, in the ancient days when the Starks were kings in the North.
