And here is our very first look at Liam Cunningham as Ser Davos Seaworth, former smuggler and now one of Stannis Baratheon’s most loyal followers. It may be wishful thinking, but it sort of looks like he has a leather bag hanging quite closely to his neck. In the novel, Davos had the first joint from each finger of one hand removed for his past crimes… an action ordered and carried out by Stannis, who would then turn around and reward Davos for having brough much-needed supplies to a besieged Storm’s End during Robert’s Rebellion. Davos has carried the bones in a bag from then on, claiming they bring him luck.

Interestingly, you can see what appears to be Stannis’s own guard accompanying Davos, with helmets in a similar style to those worn by Renly’s guard… but less ostentatious, without the gold/bronze plating. Also, unless I’m mistaken, this snippet of a scene appears to show Stannis’s banner, a yellow field bearing a fiery red heart (in reference to R’hllor, who has the epithet of the Heart of Fire, among others) and a black stag.art of his embrace of the god R’hllor.
