We colored the hair of 95% of the actors ourselves to keep continuity as we were shooting in 2 countries simultaneously and running a further splinter unit! All other cast either wore wigs or hairpieces created for them. This included 2 characters w/platinum hair that required the hair team to apply bald caps under their wigs.”
  • Makeup (Non-Prosthetic):  “Winter is Coming” by Paul Engelen and Melissa Lackersteen. Description: “Numerous demands and challenges were demanded on the production. 60 speaking roles/characters all of which had specific looks. Considerable numbers of facial hair, with ‘doubles’ working on numerous shooting units. Several characters with facial scarring/burns. Achieved essentially with ‘3rd Degree’ material. Extensive Ethnic Body Painting on Dothraki People for several sequences.”
  • Makeup (Prosthetic): “A Golden Crown” by Paul Engelen and Conor O’Sullivan. Description: “‘The Hound’: extensive pre-formed piece, created using ‘3rd Degree’ silicone, applied to actor’s scalp and forehead. ‘Wilding’: throat / neck section made from silicone, applied. Piece exposed inner lining of ‘throat’ and tubed to show coarsing blood. ‘Viserys’: gold crown made from silicone and coloured gold.
