Westeros.org on Twitter

Westeros.org’s digest of feeds—covering almost all of our sites—is now being tweeted via our new twitter account, westerosorg. We’ll occasionally try and tweet some small news items exclusively via Twitter when it’s suitable to the microblogging medium.

For those unfamiliar with Westeros.org, we’ll take a moment to introduce ourselves. We are the largest A Song of Ice and Fire fan site on the Internet, offering the widest-possible range of information for followers of the series and the author, George R. R. Martin. We cover all sorts of news related to GRRM’s writing and editing projects, licensed products such as games, comics, and miniatures, convention and signing appearances, and the proposed television series.

Westeros.org had its start as the most thorough thematic resource for the series, including an exhaustive collection of correspondence and convention reports, heraldry, and fan art and maps. Finally, we host the largest fan forum (to which David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, executive producers of the series, have posted on occasion to illict comments from fans and tease with hints), the largest English-language fan wiki, the Ring of Ice and Fire webring (currently being reorganized), as well as personally running Blood of Dragons MUSH, the only current Ice and Fire online text-based roleplaying game approved by George R. R. Martin.

Through our fandom and subsequent acquaintance with GRRM, we have personally been involved in a number of licensed products, such as the first roleplaying game and The Hedge Knight comic book, we’ve provided research assistance and advice to license holders, and are presently signed with Bantam Spectra to co-author The World of Ice and Fire with GRRM; a section of the forum is devoted to the book, which will be published some time after A Dance with Dragons (and before you wonder, GRRM’s first priority is Dance, so his participation in the writing will come only after that is completed!)

Please feel free to look around, provide comments and feedback, and participate!
