I felt some real anticipation when I was present in this room while visiting the set, with the great doors shut so that I knew behind one was the throne room and behind the other was the rest of the Red Keep set. This is a fine look at the gold cloaks as well. As I’ve said, their outfits are incredible, and I think are one of the areas where the show’s embellishments and flair with ornamentation actually goes above and beyond what GRRM has written (and in a good way). The wealth needed to equip a couple thousand guards dressed like that must be very considerable.
