Ser Hugh of the Vale (Jefferson Hall), former squire to Lord Arryn, riding in the Hand’s tourney. Note the shield bearing what turns out to be the Arryn arms as described by George R.R. Martin. The fact that Ser Hugh is using the Arryn arms is also a curiousity; in the setting, one should only bear the arms one is entitled to. Is this a hint that Ser Hugh will be changed into an Arryn? Or simply a choice to simplify the usage of heraldic arms?

We’re pleased to see the use of a heater shield. This is the most common form of shield in the novels, although indications suggest that they’re going to mix things up quite a bit more (including dropping shields entirely in some cases) in the series.
