Another detail that’s great? Cloaks pretty much on everyone. GRRM envisions the cloak as the standard utilitarian garment that pretty much everyone has handy. Useful for cold and wet weather, keeps the sun off your armor, and a great way to display your heraldic arms. He made a specific note of the fact that cloaks should be more in evidence when he reviewed the Game of Thrones: Genesis art assets.
