Brother to Catelyn Stark, Edmure is the heir to Riverrun. Sharing his sister’s blue eyes and auburn hair, Edmure is unwed and seems in no hurry to change it, though he’s known for his fondness of women.

In the novel, Edmure plays a more significant role in the first two books, being defeated and captured by Ser Jaime Lannister outside of Riverrun, only to be freed by his nephew’s host. His father, ailing but still alive, holds the title of lord, but he largely manages the affairs of House Tully. During A Clash of Kings, he successfully defends the crossings of the Red Fork against the Lannister army as well, winning some fame. In the series, however, the Tullys have been very much downplayed. The actor is somewhat older than the character, and is not naturally auburn haired.
