This is our best look at the armor for Renly’s guard, placed to costume armorer Simon Brindle‘s right. I can’t help but wonder if the design was initially intended to feature stripes of various hues in reference to the Rainbow Guard, but that this was abandoned (either very early on, or perhaps after a screen test found such armor far too garish on screen). Instead what we get is something rather bronze in color, with steel armor for the arms that may possibly be a little blued (hard to tell).

I’m rather sad we’re not seeing the Rainbow Guard in their armor—each knight having a different hued suit of armor, and in the novels each seemed to have their armor enameled with various designs (e.g. Emmon the Yellow’s armor was covered in enameled sunflowers)—but at least this is a strong visual design.
