Via HBO, we’ve received statements from executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss, as well as Best Supporting Actor nominee Peter Dinklage, regarding their success and that of Game of Thrones in the 2011 Emmy Nominations:
Benioff and Weiss:
These nominations are great honors for the various individuals singled out, but the truth is that hundreds of people worked on Game of Thrones, setting up lights at five in the morning, sewing wolf sigils on Sunday evenings, forging Valyrian steel daggers. The crew and production staff work insane hours and their credits flash by in the blink of an eye at the end of each episode. We thank them for their passion and commitment to the show, and we thank the Academy for recognizing their labors. And of course thanks to HBO and George R.R. Martin.
It’s great to be nominated with some of my favorite actors, a few of whom I also call my friends.
