We’ve sprinted about the ‘net to try and learn more about Michelle Fairley, the actress now cast in the role of Catelyn Stark following Jennifer Ehle’s departure. From what we can find, Fairley is a very private person and maintain a low media profile, as noted in this Belfast Telegraph chat.
She recently starred as George Best’s mother in Best: His Mother’s Son (starring Tom Payne, who was one among a number of hopefuls who auditioned for the role of Viserys), photos of which show her in the role of Anne Best, who fell into alcoholism. The article also shares her age, 45 at the time of the interview. Of note: in 2008 she was nominated for the prestigious Laurence Olivier theatre award for her role as Amelia in “Othello”.
