King Robb Stark

A grey direwolf's head on white

General Information

Having captured Ser Jaime Lannister at the Whispering Woods and destroying most of the Kingslayer’s host in the Battle of the Camps, as well as successfully screening his plans from Lord Tywin Lannister, young Robb Stark was thrust into the lordship of his house when the news arrived at Riverrun of Lord Eddard Stark’s execution in King’s Landing. Already called the Young Wolf by the northerners and rivermen for his exploits, those lords then called for him to be the new king of the North and the Trident.

Spoilers

Most recently, King Robb has led an expedition into the westerlands, where he has defeated a Lannister army and has taken castles, provisions, cattle, and gold mines. When he returned, he was married to Jeyne Westerling, leading to great difficulty with Lord Walder Frey as he had betrayed his promise to wed one of his daughters. The attempt to patch the rift with the marriage of Lord Edmure Tully to Roslin Frey gave Lord Walder and Lord Roose Bolton the opportunity to betray King Robb. The slaughter that ensued, known as the Red Wedding, led to the murders of Robb Stark, his mother Catelyn Stark, and many others besides.
