Here are designs for what we believe to be titled “Stark Guards”. The clothing here is much, much more distinctly European in fashion central figure’s doublet or jerkin worn over what appears to be a surcoat or perhaps a gambeson. All three figures wear fur-edged cloaks. It’s interesting to note that skull caps or hats they’re all depicted as wearing, something which we do appear to see in one or more of the videos. Headgear is something GRRM very, very rarely describes, and when he does it seems to be along the lines of a poor youth’s straw hat or a foreigner’s accoutrement; yet in the actual Middle Ages, hats, caps, and the like were fairly common.
