The long-awaited, first look at Tywin Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock, Shield of Lannisport, and Warden of the West. Charles Dance quickly became the top pick among fans for the role when David Benioff and Dan Weiss appeared on the A Song of Ice and Fire forum asking for casting suggestions.
He seems to have mangificently ornate armor here, a rich variant on the basic pattern of the Lannister guard armor, by the looks of it. The only shame of it is that it seems to be all black, while more red and gold in evidence would have been very nice to see. As to Dance himself, no mutton chops or head shaved because Tywin could not abide thinning or greying hair, but in other particulars—the cold stare of those eyes—he’s perfect.
