A great shot of Ser Jaime outside of his armor as a knight of the Kingsguard. This scene is rather different in some particulars from how it’s described in the books, as soon becomes evident, but all the details that are changed seem relateively superficial. The costuming here for Jaime is interesting, and seems to preserve something of the form of the outfit depicted here.

An important detail? It’s pretty plain here that the sword is not gilded, as in the books. I have it on very good authority that, as with the Kingsguard armor, they tried it as described in the novels and it simply did not work well on camera. So the gold on Jaime’s sword is focused on the hilt and pommel, rather than on the blade.

Behind Jaime, we finally see the Lannister guardsmen with their split visors pulled in front of their faces. A rather imposing look! We’ve discussed the armor somewhat more here.
