Balon Swann is a notable knight, skilled with lance, mace and bow. Lady Ravella Smallwood, wife of Acorn Hall’s lord, is also a Swann.

Spoilers

Lord Gulian Swann plead illness and has taken no part in the current wars, but his sons have. Ser Donnel was with Renly and then with Stannis, and was wounded at the Blackwater. He yielded to Ser Elwood Harte and was ransomed afterward, before swearing fealty to King Joffrey.

Ser Balon was at King’s Landing when Lord Stark was executed and remained there as the war began. After the death of Ser Preston Greenfield and the removal of Ser Boros Blount, Ser Balon was one of the two knights chosen for the Kingsguard. He fought skillfully and valiantly at the Blackwater, leading some of the Lannister troops. After the death of Ser Gregor Clegane, he was tasked with carrying his head to Dorne and to perform some other actions at the command of Queen Cersei.
