EP202: The Night Lands
In the wake of a bloody purge in the capital, Tyrion chastens Cersei for alienating the king’s subjects. On the road north, Arya shares a secret with Gendry, a Night’s Watch recruit. With supplies dwindling, one of Dany’s scouts returns with news of their position. After nine years as a Stark ward, Theon Greyjoy reunites with his father Balon, who wants to restore the ancient Kingdom of the Iron Islands. Davos enlists Salladhor Saan, a pirate, to join forces with Stannis and Melisandre for a naval invasion of King’s Landing.

Preview
In the previous episode, we saw—once again, recall the end of the very first episode!—that vengeful Lannisters are a serious threat to the health of children across all of Westeros as a veritable purge of black-haired bastards is carried out by the Gold Cloaks.
The continuation of that particular storyline makes up some key moments of this episode, both in King’s Landing and on the road northwards, where we catch up with Arya—or Arry, as she now calls herself—and the other new recruits being taken to the Wall by Yoren. In the scenes with Arya, we finally get a good look at the three miscreants being transported in the cage, one of whom sports an interesting hairstyle…
Speaking of the Night’s Watch, we also rejoin Jon and company beyond the Wall and we get another look at just how incredibly huge those direwolves have grown since we last saw them. Jon is also in the final scene; an added scene that does not feature in the books and which treats a particular mystery with, well, rather less mystery.
Across the sea, the first of the bloodriders that Daenerys sent out to search for signs of life returns, though unfortunately with anything but good news.
This episode also takes us to yet another new location; harsh and rocky Pyke, home of the Greyjoys. Yes, Theon is finally getting to see his home—and his nearest surviving family, his father Balon and his sister
Asha—once again. But the triumphant homecoming that he expected does not turn out quite as he had expected.
Another new face is also introduced as we revisit Dragonstone and Davos tries to recruit another supporter for his king’s cause. Melisandre also does all she can for Stannis…
