GRRM’s official site has been updated with new material in "Cover Art", "From My Readers" and "News". The last of these concerns news related to Subterranean Press’s limited editions of “A Song of Ice and Fire” and GRRM: A RRetrospective, as Subterranean offers a special deal on purchasing both sets of books.

2005 Asimov’s Reader Awards

Asimov’s Science Fiction, one of the top SF/F fiction magazines, is holding its annual reader awards for the best works published in their pages. GRRM is nominated in the “Best Novella” category for the story “Shadow Twin”, written in collaboration with Daniel Abrahamson and Gardner Dozois. It’s an excellent story, among other excellent stories in the magazine. Vote now!

GRRM’s official site has been updated with new pictures from fans and an updated sample from A Feast for Crows (the second Daenerys chapter; it’s unclear whether any substantial changes have been introduced to previous previews of this chapter). Also, George’s bookselling page has been re-opened.

Locus Interview Excerpts

Locus’s November 2005 issue features GRRM on the cover. Inside, there’s an interview as well as a review of the book. Locus has now released some choice excerpts from the interview on its official website.

GRRM at GenCon SoCal

Guardians of Order are pleased to announce that GRRM’s special appearance at GenCon Socal on the 19th will include a period in the Orange County Ballroom, Salon 1, between 8 and 10 PM where he’ll be available to sign books.

GRRM Interview

Roz Kaveney has posted her interview of GRRM that she has written for Time Out. Misspelling Cersei’s name aside, it’s quite an interesting interview, although somewhat spoilerish. In particular,  it contains a fascinating quote from GRRM when comparing Daenerys’s travails in A Dance with Dragons with those of another POV character in A Feast for Crows.

Detroit Free Press on ASoIaF

Marta Salja, books writer for the Detroit Free Press, has done an excellent job of both reviewing A Feast for Crows and profiling GRRM and the “A Song of Ice and Fire” fan community. If you’re part of the Brotherhood without Banners, you may even notice some familiar names…
