The Locus Awards finalists have been announced, and down in the Illustrated and Art Book category there was a pleasant surprise in the form of George R.R. Martin’s A Storm of Swords: The Illustrated Edition, with illustrations by the award-winning Gary Gianni. Gianni has previously provided art for one of the A Song of Ice and Fire calendars, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and Subterranean Press’s limited edition of Fire and Blood.

The winners will be announced on June 26th, during the virtual Locus Awards Weekend event.

Half a year since Folio Society published A Clash of Kings, they’ve now released A Storm of Swords with Jonathan Burton continuing his gorgeous illustration and design contributions to the series.

Once again, stellar work from the Folio Society. Fans of George R.R. Martin, and bibliophiles generally, should appreciate these. Thanks to the Folio Society, we also have two images to share from the two-volume A Storm of Swords which we’ll include with the press release below!

George R.R. Martin and Random House have announced the November publication date of A Storm of Swords: The Illustrated Edition. The cover maintains the same style as the two previous editions, but art this time around is being provided by the fantastic Gary Gianni, who has previously illustrated the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms collection, the 2014 A Song of Ice and Fire Calendar, and the Subterranean Press limited edition of Fire & Blood.
