As is tradition, HBO has released its latest “what’s upcoming next year” video, and this one features a number of new moments from House of the Dragon‘s third season including a great glimpse at Lord Ormund Hightower (James Norton) in a breastplate engraved with images of the the High Tower, the Mother, and the Warrior, as well as Corlys Velaryon, Alyn of Hull, the queens Alicent and Rhaenyra, and Prince Aemond.
While no official release date has been given, by sheer happenstance Matt Smith was on the UK show This Morning and let slip that he thought it will premiere this August:
The HBO video also has some clips from the forthcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, but pretty sure it’s nothing we have not seen before.
Straight from Max’s press desk is the announcement of a unique contest for musical artists in the US (and D.C.), challenging them to create remixes of the House of the Dragon theme using stems available at Beatport’s Loopcloud platform. Judges for the contest will include Beatport, Ed Banger Records, and “select cast members from HBO’s House of the Dragon”.
And the prize? Per the announcement:
Two (2) winners will be selected from the remix challenge – one winning Green remix and one winning Black remix. Each winner will receive an official release on WaterTower Music, one (1) year subscription to Beatport Studio, one (1) year subscription to Beatport Pro or Beatsource Pro Streaming, 100 LabelRadar credits and a $10,000 cash prize.
Four (4) runners-up will be selected from the remix challenge. Each runner-up will receive One (1) six (6) month Beatport Studio Subscription, One (1) six (6) Beatport Pro or Beatsource Pro Streaming subscription, and Fifty (50) LabelRadar credits.
Over a week ago, we collaborated with the Folio Society on a contest to win one of their gorgeously illustrated, high-quality bound and slipcased copies of A Dance with Dragons to celebrate the 12th anniversary since the premiere of Game of Thrones. To mark the 12th anniversary since HBO’s Game of Thrones aired on April 17th, 2011—my, how time flies!—the Folio Society and Westeros.org are collaborating to give away a copy of the beautifully illustrated, slip-cased A Dance with Dragons that they released last year. We own all the Folio Society editions of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, and they are truly gorgeous!

We’ve an exciting opportunity for fans of Game of Thrones who are excited about the forth-coming House of the Dragon! Thanks to HBO Max Netherlands, we have a number of tickets that we’re giving away to attend the European premiere of House of the Dragon on August 11th. The event will be a grand affair taking place at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, featuring members of the cast and crew as well as the Dragon’s Den, a unique interactive experience that will open first for guests of the premiere before opening for the general public on the 12th and 13th of August.
