Way back when, Game of Thrones had a strong musical culture draw to it, in part inspired by the fact that the show runners were fans of a wide range of rock and alternative bands, and made use of their interest in commissioning original songs from the likes of The National and Florence and the Machine, while HBO leaned into it with their Catch the Throne mixtape with contributions from Snoop Dog, Method Man, Yandel, and more.

Will be interesting to hear what talented producers, artists, and fans make of the contest!
