House Pryor of Pebble

General Information

The Pryors of Pebble do not seem like a powerful house at first glance. Much like their Sistermen neighbors, the Pryors have had a reputation of keeping to themselves, although not quite to the degree of the Sunderlands and theirs. In fact, the one tidbit of knowledge others might know of the Pryors aside from their seclusion would be their fierce loyalty to the Arryns. They fought for their lord admirably in the Conquest of Dorne, although not without the loss of Lord Renlys eldest son and grandson, Bedryn and Alladar, as well as his nephew Lewin.

Rather far north, Pebble is valued more for its strategic value than its crops or fishing yields. Its location near the entrance to the Bite off the coast of the northern Fingers can be used as a deterrent for pirates and invaders aiming for the Sisters, White Harbor, or The Neck. As such, the Pryors pride themselves on their seamanship and naval capabilities. While not a massive armada, the Pryor fleet is nonetheless nothing to sneeze at. Likewise, as natural resources on the small island are few, the main method of garnering income for the Pryors is trade, mainly between White Harbor, Gulltown, and Kings Landing, with detours made to Sisterton occasionally.

Pebble maintains close relations with the Redforts of Redfort, and the Sunderlands of Sisterton. Aside from that, little is known of the island and her ruling house, save by her allies and neighbors. Isolated and somewhat reclusive, a sighting of a Pryor at the royal court is rare indeed.
