Official Site Update

GRRM’s official site has been updated with news regarding Dabel Brothers Productions and Marvel Comics publishing a new, original Wild Cards series (previously reported on here), details of Bantam’s offering of Dreamsongs in two volumes (Volumes 1 and 2) with original illustrations by Mike Kaluta, and the expected announcement of the end of the licensing agreement with Testors.

Also added was a change in the A Dance with Dragons sample chapter available in the "Ice & Fire Sample" section, which is now a Daenerys chapter (already previously published), new cover art in "Cover Art", and a new entry in "From My Readers".

Dinner Update

We’ve received more information on the previously reported opportunity to have dinner with George R.R. Martin during Denver’s Opus Fantasy Art Festival:

Dinner with George

Thanks to the Opus Fantasy Arts Festival, it looks like fans will be able to join George R. R. Martin, author of the acclaimed A Song of Ice and Fire series, for a Moroccan feast! A perfect chance to ask George about Dornish cuisine and customs, too. ;)

Following is the official announcement from the festival, with contact information in case you are interested in joining in:

Official Site Update

GRRM’s official site has been updated with a new “Not a Blog” entry” discussing licenses for his works. He’s revealed that he has signed four licensing deals which have yet to be announced, and which will not be announced until the licensess are prepared to announce them. At least one of the licenses has to do with Wild Cards, and he’s noted that he’s allowed one license to expire after noting that not all of the licensing agreements have worked out as he had hoped.

Official Site Update

GRRM’s official site has been updated with the news that Dabel Brothers Production’s adaptation of "The Sworn Sword" is now scheduled for release in the coming months, and the addition of Blood of Dragons MUSH to the "Links" page. Furthermore, a new picture has been added to "From My Fans" and GRRM has begun selling copies of Meisha Merlin’s numbered limited edition of A Game of Thrones and Guardians of Order’s deluxe limited edition of the A Game of Thrones Roleplaying Game from his website, as noted in this post on "Not a Blog".

Wild Cards Comic Book Series

At the New York Comic Con, Marvel Comics and Dabel Brothers Productions announced that Wild Cards, a seminal superhero setting created by and written about by authors such as George R. R. Martin, will see new life in comic book publishing through a brand new series which will be entirely original. Instead of adapting previous stories as the previous Epic series did years ago, the first six issues will feature the work of author Daniel Abraham (who has recently become a part of the Wild Cards team of writers, including writing the interstitials for Tor’s forthcoming new Wild Cards volume, Inside Straight). Daniel’s own announcement follows:

Pizza Crawl Cancelled

Unfortunately, due to illness, George has had to cancel the pizza crawl in New Haven, Connecticut that he had been so looking forward to. See here for more information. The illness—either a bad case of a stomach virus or food poisoning—may impact his planned appearances at the New York Comic Con as well.

Official Site Update

GRRM’s official site has been updated. The "Ice & Fire Update" notes that work continues on A Dance with Dragons, with some storylines going well and others will need rewriting before the book is done. George also discusses the fact that the updates have not exactly achieved what he hoped they would achieve in terms of reducing the flow of e-mails asking about the book, so he will no longer post any updates until he has completed the book. "From My Readers" also has more entries from fans. Finally, the "Books for Sale" section has been updated with the fact that GRRM has several copies of Meisha Merlin’s A Game of Thrones numbered limited edition for sale.

Last Call for Pizza Crawl

George has posted a final, detailed update on the plans for the pizza crawl in New Haven. If you’re interested in taking part, check the post out and add a comment regarding your intentions.

GRRM’s official site has been updated with new entries in "From my Readers" as well as the addition of the Dreamsongs covers in the "Cover Art" gallery.

GRRM Events Added

George has kindly provided us a look at his tentative schedule for both Boskone and the New York Comic-Con. As he cautions, these are subject to change. To see them, check the Calendar.

Pizza Crawl Update

George has updated his "Not a Blog" concerning the pizza crawl he’s previously posted about. In brief, February 20th he and Parris will be in New Haven, where they mean to try out some of New Haven’s most famous pizza establishments, and George has invited his readers in the area to join him. What he’s looking for now is for people who are "in" to indicate this in comments, preferably with an actual name and other such information attached. He asks for comments to be solely about the pizza crawl on this particular post, to make it easier to organize the outing.

Official Site Update

GRRM’s official site has been updated with new entries and pictures in the “Life and Times” section, detailing his years in Chicago and Dubuque.

The gentlemen at Greenhorn, Paul and Damon, have decided to weigh in on the issue of author’s blogging about things they’re interested in which fans aren’t necessarily interested in with this funny comic featuring GRRM.
