Despite our work being a little disrupted by the server’s downtime, we have now reached (and done much work on) the Assets & Flaws section of the CharGen. We are also working on finalizing the INFO (NEWS) files to be able to upload those to the game and to the website.
To give a taste of how the CharGen is coming along, here’s how it looks so far (with reservations for possible changes, of course):
Room #1: Age, Height and Weight are set. From the latter two values, Size is calculated.
Room #2: Rank and Wealth are set, unless they have already been determined by the Admin. Rank consists of 10 levels, from Smallfolk to Royal, and Wealth consist of 10 levels, from Paltry to Extreme.
Room #3: Assets and Flaws are selected. Once we’re happy with the list, we’ll probably post it to give an idea of what it will contain. Each Tier (formerly Level) is alloted a certain number of points to spend. The same total number of points need to be spent on both Assets and Flaws.
Room #4: Stats are selected. Stats are divided into three groups, each with three subgroups: Mobility (Agility, Dexterity, Reflexes), Physique (Constitution, Endurance, Strength) and Mind (Intelligence, Perception, Wit). Each Tier (formerly level) is alloted a certain number of points to spend. The points and/or the final numbers are affected by various other selections, such as some Assets and Flaws.
Room #5: Skills are selected. At the moment, the skill list is heavily under construction. Each Tier (formerly level) is alloted a certain number of points to spend. The points and/or the final numbers are affected by various other selections, such as Age, Rank and some Assets and Flaws.
Room #6: Background and Justify are written. The Background is the overview of the character’s life so far, and the Justify gives specific information about the selections made in CharGen, such as why the character merits a certain Flaw or a certain Skill.
Room #7: Info (to the degree that it hasn’t already been filled out by the Admin) and Prefs are filled out. The Info refers to the non-CG information that is stored about each character and displayed via +CDB
as well as to the character’s public History, Persona, Rumors, etc. The Prefs refers to the player’s role-playing preferences.
